SERVICE ATTENDANT
Pay Grade A54
Under close supervision, performs servicing and cleaning of revenue and non-revenue equipment, including automobiles, buses, rail cars, and non-revenue rail equipment. |
Differs from Mechanic in that Service Attendant performs servicing and fueling of revenue and non-revenue equipment while Mechanic performs skilled maintenance and repair of revenue and non-revenue equipment. Differs from Maintenance Specialist in that Service Attendant cleans revenue vehicles while Maintenance Specialist maintains and repairs revenue rail vehicles. There is a Service Attendant Leader who in addition to the regular Service Attendant duties, is responsible for assigning duties and directing employees in the performance of their work under the supervision of his/her immediate supervisor with whom he/she shall consult in all matters affecting such work. A Leader receives additional pay for each hour worked as stipulated by the appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Incumbents may bid to work either in a BUS or RAIL Operations Division. Bus Operations Service Attendants transferring to Rail Operations will assume rail-related duties. |
