RAIL ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION INSPECTOR LEADER

Under moderate supervision, performs inspection, testing, installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment on the right-of-way, public area, and other Metro locations while leading Rail Electronic Communication Inspectors by assigning work and providing training. |
Rail Electronic Communication Inspector is an Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) journey-level position. It differs from the Rail Electronic Communication Inspector Leader (ATU) in that a Rail Electronic Communication Inspector performs preventive and corrective maintenance and inspection of Rail Communication Systems and related equipment and interface while a Rail Electronic Communication Inspector Leader oversees and coordinates the daily activities of a group of Rail Electronic Communication Inspectors and assigns tasks within a work crew. Differs from Systems Electronic Communication Technician in that Rail Electronic Communication Inspector installs, maintains, and repairs fiber optic network systems, radio systems, advanced communication, audio, video, telephone, public address, alarm systems in support of operations, and performs Reg4 inspections in support of the Fire Life Safety System while the Systems Electronic Communication Technician installs, maintains, and repairs microwave, advanced communication, audio, video, telephone, public address, and alarm systems in support of other Metro operations. |
