Basic Function
Under moderate supervision, performs complex clerical duties and maintains accurate training records on all new hire employees that require DMV certification and current employees that require re-certification |

Examples of Duties
- Reviews, maintains, and updates new hire employee list for completeness and accuracy on 1st day

Reviews daily employee attendance sheets until training completion

Process final paperwork for employees being terminated from training and request special checks from payroll

Provides appropriate DMV forms and schedules DMV appointments for all students

Process Uniform/Shoe vouchers
-
Prepares letters, memos, forms, and reports
-
Maintains and updates various complex lists, logs, and departmental records on a daily basis

Responds to inquiries from DMV, other departments and employees regarding procedures and training records

Answers telephones and acts as an office receptionist for staff and new hires

Maintains, supports, and promotes a safe work environment while complying with all of Metros safety rules, policies, and procedures
Contributes to ensuring that the EEO policies and programs of Metro are carried out

Essential Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- General office practices and procedures

English grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Complex recordkeeping

Ability to:
- Type 50 net words per minute

Prepare correspondence and reports and maintain complex records

File materials alphabetically, numerically, and chronologically

Perform manual and computerized recordkeeping

Minimum Qualifications
Potential candidates interested in the OPERATIONS CENTRAL INSTRUCTION SPECIALIST position MUST meet
the following requirements:
- 2 year of experience performing manual and computerized recordkeeping and other complex clerical work
